With a revolutionary touch interface, wireless access, and amazing Applications the iPod Touch and iPad offer a new and exciting way to engage students. Because of their portability and ease of use they allow learning to happen quickly and in almost any situation. These very same features that are so engaging to the student could also cause concern for the IT staff on how to manage these devices.
In this session we will look at the various ways IT departments could manage iOS devices while providing all the features that allow iPad and iPod Touches to be world-class learning devices.
This presentation will give teachers information about the annual GIS Day event that happens at the Miller Campus in November. Teachers will learn what is to be expected at the event and how to bring their students to the event, how to obtain bus grants to help transportation to the event and how GIS Day is going on the road to different parts of the state giving other teachers and students the opportunity to learn about geospatial technology.
The iPad is an exciting new mobile device for education. This session will provide an overview of how the iPad is being used to significantly change the learning experience for students as it related to literacy (reading and language fluency), mathematic achievement and student participation. The session will provide an interactive experiences with the iPod exploring digital textbooks, Apps, free media resources, and productivity tools, which will greatly enhance K-12 instructional opportunities.
