Participants will learn to build a tetrahedron kite using string and straws. Each participant will receive the materials necessary to build the kite, which they may take with them when they complete its construction. A short talk will also be given on line segments, angles, equilateral triangels, quadrangles/quadrilateral/squares/rhombus, pentagons, hexagons, ..........ad infinitum (ad nauseum!), basically all the things you can do with straws and string in a math/geometry class setting as a hands on exploration of geometric shapes. If time allows participants may take their kites outside (weather permitting and wind cooperating) for a short flight.
