3-Hr Workshop-PC Lab-You say you've heard about Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or maybe thought it was too difficult or time consuming to use in the classroom? Well, it's not!

Join Joseph Kerski from ESRI as we analyze local, Utah, national, and global phenomena ranging from natural hazards to population to climate, using Web Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and desktop GIS tools.

You will be amazed at how easy it is to incorporate inquiry into your teaching and also provide excellent 21st Century critical thinking and career skills for your students.

Can elementary students do GIS?  Abolsutely.  Come and see how to use GIS in math, science, social studies, health, earth sciences, literature and more. 

5th grade students gain a better understanding of the United States, regions, mountains, weather.  4th graders can see the trek of early Utah pioneers over the prairies.  Middle school students can analyze various aspect of earth science, world geography, and geology using online mapiing (GIS) tools and data.

There is definitely somebody for everybody in GIS!
